Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
thank you luiz
do yourself a favor and get you this kit, it's wonderful - basic in some aspects but typical tamiya quality!
soooo ... as promised here the (so far) finished marder:

for the first time i tried to simulate the glass in visor blocks and am quite satisfied with the outcome:

the jack block still needs some attention but this has time - now the kit is stored away to protect it from dust and after the base is finished i will blend it into the dio
on to the figures!

Way Awesome
I really love it !
I love how you did the periscopes !
The shiny bits on the roadwheels is awesome , so what brand of shiny do you use ?
I love the mud effects too , your exhaust pipe looks nice too ! Even the cordite on the end of the spent cases.
I do not know what you have been putting on the top of each entry
, all I see is a big box with a small square inside it & in the small square is a red square, a green circle & a blue triangle in it
!

gunze chrome silver! i used that chrome silver on the roadwheels and as a base for the periscopes (followed by gunze clear green!)

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
thanks bob!
yesterday i started with the new figures that richie has sent me! some i had to alter considerably! (altered equipment, cut away spats, added different weapons, added straps on kar98's, swapped some heads, exchanged boots etc.etc.)
still some work on a few of those and two are still not assembled!
diva destruction - the broken ones is a song that fits quite good to the figures
they will be another group of germans surrounding a second fuel drum with fire:

Looking very cool
Laura .
The third bloke looks like he is about to break into some knee slapping Haka
!
Personally I think the Verlinden gas mask canisters are far too big .

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
thank you jeff!
finishing will take some time, i'm sorry!
well, i finished the haka-bloke (LOL) with paper + DML equipment and worked on a bad-mood-dude again using a different head, a DML 2ndGen MG42 and this time tristar equipment! the gas mas container of verlinden is really ridiculously oversized jenny!
only one figure left!
for watching this update here's a jenny compatible video of music not so jenny compatible

Yes, Laura, now the equipment parts look much better.
Right - this is an old mistake, Verlinden´s gas mask cans are in about 1/32.

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
since i am no angel (matthew should like that video!) i cheated a little bit with the last figure - to easen the task up i depicted him as another tank forces member and no infantry this time:

and this is how i want to arrange them in the dio:

the infantry pfcs royally freezing their a** off and the infantry nco together with the tank forces member having a chitchat with the MP discussing important matters (soccer results for instance!!!)

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
I missed this post!!!
I like the way you´ve weathered the lower part of the vehicle. As you know, there are always details in other kits that you like to copy in your own kits.
In this case, I´ve got two details I´d like to ask you about.
1.- Spent shells. How did you get such a nice colour?
2.- Periscopes. Did you add gloss varnish?
I also like figures ... it´ll be a nice vignette

Jenny Croft wrote:Hey they look real cool together ! The guy says "so I drove the fork lift like this ! "
or he is explaining "well guys! a haka starts like this, very similar to a bavarian schuhplattler! i bet ivan will poop his pant when we do this before our next attack!"

Jose Luis Lopez wrote:In this case, I´ve got two details I´d like to ask you about.

thank you jose!
to answer your questions:
1. - i used revell enamel gold! that's all!
2. - no gloss varnish on the periscopes ... gunze chrome silver as a base covered with gunze clear green makes them shiny already! no gloss needed!
i hope this helps!

joe - you surely can with your figure painting skills! the tank construction is no challenge at all! jump in and start, the rest comes from alone!

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
Oooh. That was fun.
I just read the entire thread start to...present. Including all the teeny tiny text about the secret secret that I never mentioned here. :-)
You did a magnificent job on the Marder. That was no shake and bake build, but you busted out a winner. Those figures will compliment it nicely.
And I loved the Evangelion AMV. LMAO
I have to admit I haven't seen the series yet but now I can't wait to start. So much anime so little time.
Keep a good thing going girl!
Matt
