Re: Noel's Build: Wespe (Started the BASE)
Thank you Erik, luiz, Massimo and Matt!
Today I did a filter and after a heavier filter/wash. I start light so I can slowly control what I want to achieve.
Filter
Heavier filter/wash
At the moment I'm applying Mig pigments. It's the first time I'm doing this so I'm building the pigments slowly. Only the front and side fenders were touched

Hey Noel
Just looked up the entire 6 page build of you're wespe so far. I must admit I'm not really that much in to WW2 era and more kind of a modern armor fan. But I'll try to comment easy on you're build sofar . Nice you have updated the kit with some scratch work (always a winner for me scratch work ) great paint work the green stripes are good not to much overdone. I believe you even have put in some modulation style or am I mistaken? Great you show us some easy step by step weathering progress.
I'm waiting for some more progress keep it up!
Greetings Roel

Re: Noel's Build: Wespe (Started the BASE)
Thank you very much for your comments
@ Roel…. Yes I did put in a subtle effect of Modulation. I’m still not 100% sure about this technique and it requires good skills with an airbrush.
@Richard, I’m glad they will be of help.
@Johnny, thank you
@Dave, thanks…. I’ll watch yours.
I continued working with pigments and oils. I’m building fine rain dust-streaks with diluted oil paints.
The exhaust is still in it's early stages

Great looking weathering and the chips are perfect. Those chips are something I really need to work on.

Re: Noel's Build: Wespe (Filter and Pigments started)
Beautiful, beautiful work my friend!
I thought the last yellow splashes were too stark, but with the filters and pin wash in place it's just perfect. I bow down to your obvious talent sir!

I'm still working on it.... still more to go....... Today I took TMM magazine where Marcus featured his JSII I think it was...... beautifully weathered! I'm studying the pics to take some ideas........ Marcus is one of my favorite modellers!

Extremely good job Noel, it really looks the part!

Noel,
Really sweet build! Your weathering is spot on! Not too much, not too little!
Great job, as usual!

Re: Noel's Build: Wespe (Started the BASE)
Ooooooh great weathering effects, you are really nailing it Noel, unbelievable you are using pastels for the first time!
One small comment, I am seeing too much contrast between the straps of the exhaust and the rest.
Regards,
Tancred

Re: Noel's Build: Wespe (Nearing final stages)
Gorgeous work my friend!
Maybe a bit more scratches than I personally like, but that's a matter of taste. I couldn't hope to do half as well as that in any reality you care to name.
Again, beautiful and inspirational.

Man that is one sweet looking Wespe. I just can't get over how good a job you do with the color, and especially the paint chips. I really have to try to do something similar some day. Just awsome.

Re: Noel's Build: Wespe (Started the BASE)
This is extremely impressive work Noel. I love how even though this vehicle is clearly weathered and dirty, it's not overdone. Still looks realistic even with a solid layer of grime. A good balance between a machine that is well maintained but still having to fight under tough conditions.
