Yeah - and that´s why we are allowed to write something here about the differences... (Maybe, Ann is not really amused to read your and my words. )

A bit more stuff
Well I am not using the baseboard that comes with the Monroe Perdu set .
I decided to make my own pavements , I have cut foamboard flagstones & textured them by stippling them with a wirebrush , I cut the flagstones to 8mm x 15mm & glued them down around the "foundations" of the building
I will fill the gaps between the flagstones later .
I have left this area under the door , I paved this area for continuity .
More soon

that looks nice! good progress jenny!
i wouldn't do that! remember - this is a northern africa scenery not a major city in europe or usa ... some gaps should be there IMHO!

But what about all that dust ? Wouldn't it fill the gaps ?

for sure but not everywhere. on some spots the wind would have blown away some of it! i would not fill all gaps! i should have formulated it better before

Jenny, the stones look very well. The best will be, some gaps, some filled with sand and some totally dusted.

More great stuff, and really like the 'North Africa' theme. I take it that this will be a 'casual' as opposed to combat scene. Maybe some street market aspects? Makes it harder to 'pick' your critter. I would be hoping for something like the 'desert fox' to go along with a Rommel "Desert Fox" and Afrika Korp approach. But thinking the monkey from Indiana Jones (maybe stealing something off the Marder...lol) would be cool also. Anything you come up with will be wondefully detailed and executed. Keep up the updates,
Mike

Hi Jenny
Lookin' great! I hadn't looked at this post for a while! You work very fast, but no so fast that you miss the fine details! Not many modelers out there that can do that! Seriously!

Hi Jenny
Looking good , I think it always looks better if you make the flagstones yourself ,you get a much better idea of what you want ,I wouldn't worry about filling between them now ,wait until you have painted them then just brush pigment into the gaps and seal it with matt varnish , I made all the pavement on my Bulldog dio from plasticard coated in Mr surfacer 500 ,You are making really fast progress !
regards
Brian

All coming together !
Thanks for all the advice & encouragement everyone .
Hmmmmmm I wanted to do a figures update but I did not want to give too many clues to the other animal which will be an integral part of the diorama , as soon as someone guesses it I will add it then !
Soooooo I thought I would show a few more WIP shots of my Marder , heaps of little thingies to add yet .
There appears to be a large gap between the sponson & hull but it is just not attached . The fenders are now attached to the lower hull but the sponsons , ammo boxes , gun , hatch , front hull top & rear engine deck are still all seperate .
I will soon paint the interior , then attach the subassemblies & sponsons , then I will do the exterior bits which fit over the joins ! I like to test fit the parts often to see if there are any gaps or fit problems between the assemblies . It is also an ideal opportunity to make sure that figures which will be in/on the vehicle will fit properly as well as any stowage !

This is really looking so sweet.I'm still amazed at the speed you can crank out the photo etch.
As far as the little beastie. . . . . . . .
Well lets think. It's North Africa, so it's probably not a penguin. You have already nixed out the donkey or mule, and camels. And it also isn't an elephant, a whale or a dancing bear. You just shot down Lauras snake. And again being North Africa with mostly Muslims, it probably won't be a pig, as they really aren't all that much into pork, ham or bacon. However, I'm thinking you gave us all a clue when you told Laura it wasn't the dancing bear, so; even though the average North African native was probably Muslim in the mid 40's and probably wouldn't want them around at all, I will still guess it's a. . . . . . . . PIG!
If it isn't a pig, could you at least give us a hint.
skin,fur,or feathers?

Well then, If you won't narrow it down, I'll guess an ostrich. I think they have skin, feathers, and fur all in one critter.
