Up for review this month is Scale Aviation Modeller International (or SAMI), with its news, previews and build reviews.
Amongst the reviews this month are Revell’s BAE Hawk T.1A and Sopwith Camel, Academy’s MH-53E Sea Dragon, and a brace of Airfix Spitfires.
Also featured is an interesting conversion of a Sukhoi Su-7 into an Su-11 Fishpot ‘C’ in 1/48.
The Modellers Profile this month is of the Me262, and features colour plates, a stunning sectional diagram of a 262A-2a and kit builds in three scales. Rounding of the profile is a breakdown of currently available kits, decals, accessories and references. All in all a good introduction for any aspiring 262 fans.
I found this magazine an enjoyable and engaging read, with well written articles imparting good levels of information without making things tedious. Spelling and grammar were very good. This may sound picky, but is becoming something of a rarity these days.
The photography is of a generally high standard, with just the odd image that could have benefitted from a less cluttered background, and some that required a touch more contrast to enhance the details.
A big thumbs up to Editor Gary Hatcher for a most excellent read.
Thanks to SAM Publications for the review copy.
