Hey Laura,
As usual, I'm late on posting on your Marder III. It looks fantastic! Very well done! The figures are also great! You and Jenny never fail to impress me! I am looking forward to seeing it complete!

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
bob and gary thank you very much! highly appreciated!
good news ... for ME! i made it to ressurect my old laptop after completely disassembling and reassembling it!
- power supply problem! fixed so far!
- keyboard not working problem! fixed to 99,5% (only right shift key not working)
- dvd drive dead problem! fixed!
that means i not only can take my babe with me and listen to my music in a more friendly volume but i also have my reference books handy all the time (two dvds full of books with heaps of piccies!)

Nice figures, Laura. Figures are my nightmare. I have a lot of them and I have to face up to them some day, but meanwhile I always find a new model to assembly
Happy modelling

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
thanks very much jose! figures once were my nightmare also but once you have discovered the secrets of painting them they start to be the funniest part of modelling (besides airbrushing the models themselves!)
soooooo ... thanks to "INTERNATIONAL RESCUE" i'm back on track!
the lackey of the yellow pest(ilence) (german postal service is yellow colored) just delivered a parcel from JENNY and RICHIE packed with wonderful stuff!
i'll be upstairs in a few moments and will assemble the awesome looking ww2 production tracks! (a comparison review between them, tristar, dragon, friul and modelkasten will follow!)
richie has added a nice surprise to the parcel: six phantastic infantry figures - five verlinden telling from the resin color and one warriors if i am correct! they all look like they freezed their a** off ... since i saw them (and tried to figure out what part belongs to wich figure ) i want them in the diorama - they will add enormously to the atmosphere! they will lift the drama to another level!
the other stuff will stay classified until i will start working on them! the ruined building that was in the parcel is looking awesome after i found out how to put the puzzle of broken pieces together ... a ruin ruined by the postal service! (thanks to international postal service the originally three parts now have been 9 parts! but nothing mr glue couldn't help to repair!)
jenny, richie: YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
thanks rick!
i just returned from the bench, having both runs done! total assembly time: 30 minutes (!) - T-H-I-R-T-Y!!!
those tracks are impressive from detail and from ease of handling! never witnessed anything like that! as crisp in detail as modelkasten, as easy to handle as friul and casting numbers on each and every link!
awesome tracks!!! the first tracks i had fun to assemble!
two runs, 93 links each:
now comes the toothbrush to clean them up!

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
taking a deeeeeeep breath i did no haka this time but a safety dance:
weathering is still my weakest point!
first made some footprints with brown oil color, followed by drybrushing with the same color! this i covered with black oil color drybrushing! THEN i did a pin wash followed by going mad with pigments. for the first time i applied them wet as per rick's tip - much better than applying them dry!!! next time i will use a smaller brush - promised! i will go back and forward now with the three pigments i used until i am satisfied!
it looks quite heavy but the final dio will be in late autumn 1942 after/while mud period ... so a lot of dirt on the lower vehicle and fighting compartment!
the upper hull outside and the gun itself will get fading only as nobody would have walked around there and mud won't make sense on these upper and vertical parts high up!

Hey , nice mud
Hi Laura ,
I love the Mud effects , I like the shinyness of the rounds in the ammo boxes !
I would think that the crew are eagerly awaiting some more ammo ? I guess those WWII Tracks will dissapear under mud too ! ( I think I can just see them in the distance in one shot !
Jenny

Hey Laura!
...I don´t agree with when you say that the weathering is your weakest point...you are doing a good job...just complete some void spaces on the undersurfaces...it´s my opinion...the weathering on the rear upperdeck looks cool!
Best!
Luiz.

Re: Ubi Caritas! FINISHED!
Now we are getting to the best part of modelling . Where it all comes together and starts looking like the real thing, instead of just little pieces of plastic glued together. And you are doing a great job of that .
Oh yeah, my experience is that all girls like shiny things. especially if they glitter and sparkle in the lightJenny Croft wrote:Hi Laura ,

jenny, luiz, gary and rick - thank you very very much for your continuous support!
eagle eyes jenny - yepp in one pic the tracks can be seen if you take a closer look (i didn't even notice before you mentioned them!)
a voice called me back to the bench yesterday
and i did the fading plus glued the spent shells, idler and the roadwheels in place (i know i shouldn't have but i gave in to the impatience devil inside me )
in the meantime i painted the rubberbands on the left side and gave the tracks their first paint coat!

thank you very much! in fact i can't see why grey is considered as boring ... it can be as lively as a three tone camo on yellow or green base coat!
