"Tool" for spraying models

Hey guys,
I want to share a little trick with you.
I´ve seen some really nifty tools to hold kits while painting and such and always wanted one but after seeing the prices on some of them I refused to buy one and thought a while what I could use to build my one. I wanted mine to stand on it´s own and be pretty stable. While looking through my modelling room I found something that was just great for it.
As it serves it´s purpose for quite a while and while I think it could be pretty helpful for some of you as well, I think it´s a good idea to share it:
You don´t need much and most of it is cheap (or junk anyway):
1. The thing blank CDs are usually stowed on.
2. A screw.
When you see the pics it should be pretty clear how it works .


The screw is screwed through the top of the stand.
Be sure you don´t destroy anything on your kit, especially if you have an interior in it!!!


I drill a hole, slightly smaller than the screw, in the bottom of the hull.
As I usually fix my stuff on bases with screws anyway it´s not a problem for me to have a hole there.


Here we go, an stable and cheap stand for handling your kits.
It works just fine.

Oh and the girls could paint it pink if they don´t like the color .

Oh, the CDs can be used as a pallete for oil paints and to put instant glue on (better and cheaper to use the ones you won´t need/are damaged though )

If you took a sleeve slightly larger than the central piece but longer and fixed that you could then invert another cd holder and insert in to sleeve and allow to rotate. You could even shorten the two pieces so that it will still heve stability.

Please find below hopefully images of an improved CD spindle paint sprayer .[img][/img]

As it is not fixed in anyway to the spindle it rotates without having to touch your precious work.
All I used was apiece of A4 paper folded to A5 size tightly wrapped around one spindle then taped with a bit of tamiya masking tape.
I then splayed the end slightly and inserted the other spindle.

I have even thought about drilling a few hole to accept paperclips or fuse wire to hang things on whilst spraying.
