Re: Amusing Hobby News.
I'm currently blogging their Neubaufahrzeug elsewhere, and it's a smashing kit.
But I'm a little disappointed that Amusing Hobby seem to have gone down the "Paper Panzer" route that is already too well trodden by Trumpeter and others.
I was hoping for some more of the quirky early-war vehicles that were built.
Still, I'm confident these will be good kits as well.

Hi Chad
The NbFz is a lovely kit. It has everything you need, including some very nice working tracks. They've had a go at a form of poseable suspension. But in reality it's better to leave them in the neutral position.
You get two thicknesses of etch with working tool clamps. But I've used some of Jenny's wonderful tool clamps as they're easier on my mangled hands.
The build is going in Airfix Model World Magazine, so I'm putting the finishing touches to the article (including a sidebar on the Jenny's Clamps) over the weekend.
But if you want a model of the Neubaufahrzeug in 35th, this is the one to have.

Re: Amusing Hobby News.
Thanks Simon. If and when I get one,I will have to add a different 75mm barrel.

Re: Amusing Hobby News.
If you mean the Neubaufahrzeug, don't bother. The barrels are nicely slide-moulded.
There's no rifling, but you wouldn't see it on a barrel of this calibre.
The rifling lands on a 28cm K5 Railgun were only 7mm, so you'd barely see them in 1/35th.
Most of the rifling on Alloy barrels is ridiculously overdone.

Sorry. I meant change the barrel to an L/48. To me a tank that siize needs a longer barrel. I am a huge fan of hypothetical stuff.

Oh I see.
The turret is large enough, but the armour was quite thin. In Norway the 25mm Hotchkiss Anti-Tank guns had no trouble penetrating them.

Yikes. i did not realize the armour was that thin. That tank was pretty much a propoganda tank right?S P Hammerton wrote:Oh I see.

I do have a weakness for Paper Panzers so these have caught my interest. The DB Panther especially so as this was the version that should have been manufactured. Luckily for everyone else, common sense was severely rationed in Germany at that time.
