I'm getting honked off with life getting in the way of joining in with GBs, so...
Academy 1/48 Hughes 500 TOW Missile-equipped Whirlybird.
I built one of these earlier in the year as a Civilian Chopper and it's a fun little build, so I've ordered another from our resident Trader.

Shalom.
An IDF build! Great!
I'm in but now I need to decide which to build. I have the Tamiya Merkava I, the Hobby Boss Merkava III and the Hobby Boss Merkava IV kits. I also have the AFV Club 1967 Shot and two of the AFV Club 1973 Shot KAl kits plus a few IDF M-60 kits in addition to my Academy M-51 IDF Sherman.
Decisions, decisions.
Cheers

After careful consideration I've decided to build Captain Avigor Kahalani's Centurion Shot KAL from the 1973 Yom Kippur War. I'll be using the AFV Club kit but a Modelcraft Mk III turret as that is the type of turret on this tank. The Modelcraft turret will need some reshaping done to it. Now I'll have a reason to finally build this.
Cheers

Re: Anything Israeli Campaign sign up list.
Okaaaay, I was going to pass this by, because:
* I haven't built any post-WWII armor in literally decades
* I've NEVER built a Sherman and really don't intend to begin now
* I've never built anything remotely Israeli
That said, I was doing some cursory research last night and came across an article on the Israeli 8th Armored Brigade. Apparently, they used a hodge-podge of tanks, including some pre-WWII French Hotchkiss'. So, if my further research bears fruit, I'll play along with an appropriate tank from that unit.

That's the really neat thing about the IDF, they used just about anything they could get their hands on. They did have a couple of Cromwells (stolen from the British) during the 1948 War of Independence.
Us halftracks and M3 scout cars of WW2 vintage were also used by the IDF quite a bit.

Re: Anything Israeli Campaign sign up list.
OK chaps, ive never really had the confidence to enter a group build before. So why it's an Israeli army themed group build, ive decided to build 1/35 Tamiya M48 Patton, with Bison Decals 1/35 Six Day War 1967 Pt. 5 - M48A2 Patton # 35173.
Sorry for the poor quality photos, my computer wont save pictures of the net. So I have to take a photo with a camera.

Shalom. VBG
Since this group build is one year long and I build mostly OOB I think I'm definitely going to build the following Israeli kits besides Avigor Kalahani's 1973 Centurion Shot KAL this year.
Hobby Boss Merkava IIID
Hobby Boss Merkava IV LIC although I think I'll build it as the regular Merkava IV
AMT IDF M-60
Possibly the Academy IDF M-51 if time permits.
Cheers

Re: Anything Israeli Campaign sign up list.
One thing I can say for sure is that I will be building a Recovery Vehicle :-) My order won't be here until Monday but I'm planning to do either the Hobby Boss Merkava ARV OR a kitbash with CH's M50 Super Sherman and Italeri M32 bits and pieces. I really want to make an Israeli M32 HVSS ;-) But since I have a year to do this I'll likely build both!
I'll post photos of my kits when I get them on Monday.
Happy building Peeps!

Re: Anything Israeli Campaign sign up list.
I picked up my Academy 1/48 Hughes MD500 TOW Helicopter last night.
No way is this a long build, but with my other commitments it's my best option.
If I have time I'll do something else in addition.

Re: Anything Israeli Campaign sign up list.
I have a little question.
The tittle is israeli campaign, can i do enemy vehicule?
If i can, i Will do a Syrian Mig 21 to accompagne my Mirage.
I wait for your decision
Thank's

Just my opinion based on other group builds. My guess is that it's anything that the Israeli Defence Forces used not their enemies. However, Israelis are masters at using captured equipment. Therefore if the IDF ever used captured Syrian Mig 21s you could do one but in Israeli colours and markings.

I just checked the Anything Israeli Rules for you. Here's what they say:
" Anything Israeli Campaign rules.
G Cooper on Thu Jan 17, 2013 5:41 pm
.
These rules are really quite simple, and here they are.
1. It may be anything that was used by Israeli forces, from any time frame.
2. It must be in Israeli colors/markings."
So according to those rules a Syrian Mig 21 in Syrian colours and markings would not be allowed.

Sorry Roger, but it would not qualify to be in the campaign. However you may of course still build it and we would love to see you share that work with us here and on the facebook page if you do decide to build one.
