It looks juuuuuuust a little bit better than the Alan kit to me
It looks like they either got it figured out, or they fired the guy that built the jerry cans for the SAS Jeep .

I have mine on preorder at HLJ , I will say that there is a definite need for a etch set for this , the ready use cartidge case stowage is horrid and there are a lot of details , tool clamps etc which will look heaps better with etch ! This is the sorta set that Griffon do best too !

Very nice looking. Was the real vehicle DAK use only?

I dont have a lot of info on them, but what I have (its all in Japanese and I havent translated it fully) indicates only 12 were made in total and they all went to the 707th and 708th "some type of self-propelled" units (thats the Japanese I havent fully translated) in North Africa. Judging by the pix they seem to have been at least some still going in Tunisia, but I believe they all ended their days there. If I recall correctly, at first they were on a five wheel chassis but that was changed to six due to the strain, but even then it taxed the poor PII chassis so wasnt continued in production.

No worries. If I have some time (and thats a big "if" right now) Ill try to translate the characters to find out what type of unit. Obviously its something to do with artillery/infantry support though. Id like to have one of these myself but the budget is stretched way thin right now, boo hoo
