Shalom.

Master Box makes a figure set they have Titled "CHECKPOINT" which can be seen here:
http://www.mbltd.info/3527.htm

One of the figures in that set is a little girl clutching a teddy bear to he chest. In the Dioramas section of the MB site there is an image of that particular figure which was painted by a Japanese artist. It is absolutely remarkable the expression on the face, the pattern of the little girl's coat and the detail of the rest of this work of art. Check it out at:
http://www.mbltd.info/diarams_89.htm

I was astounded when I viewed the image and perhaps you will be too. It is incredible to me that so much detail could be painted onto a figure that is only about 35 mm (1+3/8") high and was molded in one piece.

Cheers from Peter

Shalom.

You might want to check that link again. The artist has added the man, the woman and the dog from that master Box "Somewhere In Europe" figure set. I thought that the little girl was awesome but holy cow you should see the face he painted on the man! It's almost inconceivable that anyone could paint such exquisite detail onto a 1/35 scale face. I'm sure that you'll be amazed. The woman and the dog look pretty good too.

Oops! This is in the dioramas section and has a different address. Here's the link to those painted figures:

I'm wondering how he did the hair sticking out from under the girl's cap.

Shalom.

The other figure he posted images of since i made the original post are well worth looking at too.

I'm astounded that this artist was able to paint catch-lights (highlights) in the irises of the pupils of the little girl's eyes. he also painted eyes on that tiny teddy bear she is holding. That is approaching micro-painting ability.

I wonder what kind of paints and brushes he used. Those paints must have exceptionally fine pigments in them. The brushes are probably very high end. I also wonder if they are like Chinese Pens which are brushes that can be very fine and that are designed for the ink (or paint) to flow from very easily.

]Perhaps this fellow is Leonardo Da Vinci reincarnated? VBG LOL

If you haven't looked at these figures yet you should as I'm sure you'll be astounded by the quality of the painting of them this artist did.
