Re: New from Dragon/CyberHobby
Once in a while if Dragon were to actually have an original thought instead of just releasing version after version of the same kit or duplicating everything other people do they may actually do something to benefit modellers instead of just talking about it.
Modellers would be far more appreciative of new innovating subjects like we have seen from the likes of AFV Club (Churchills) Bronco (A13, Sd.Kfz.221, Opel, LWS), Miniart (Dingo's) Zvezda (MB L4500A, BMW R12). I could go on but I think you get the drift while others may think I have an axe to grind.
Funny that, never used an axe while modelling, various sharp knives, razor saws and some files, but never an axe

Re: New from Dragon/CyberHobby
What surprises me is that it seems DML has special sensitivity to two companies: Trumpeter and Tristar. If any of them launch - or just announce to launch - a kit, you can bet that in two days DML will announce its counterpart. Bronco, AFV Club, Miniart, Masterbox - they are not counted, just these two. I understand that Trumpeter is a big game, so they feel they can be dangerous if they are let to roam free. But any of the other companies are releasing quality kits, similar to Tristar, and they are not attacked. (Sorry to say attack, but if a stronger competitor instantly starts to launch a counteroffer to my new product and do it regularly, it constitutes me a marketing attack.) Can be a rhetorical question, but why?

NOTE: I am NOT defending Dragon, merely pointing out an out for them THIS time.
The Tristar Welbike was announced quite a while back then the rumor that Tristar went under began circulating. DML/UML MAY have thought of filling in the void should that happen. Yet, I am still not surprised that we did not hear of it until after Tristar's comeback release is announced.
Regards,

Yes, some may see this as "competition" but it's really a waste of resources at a time when many modellers have less resources (hard earned) to go about and if this duplication hurts a competitor the modeller would be the loser as there would be less incentive to release quality kits the modeller actually wants.
Their is plenty of room for all players in the hobby, those offering good quality attractive subjects will thrive while those with lesser standards will find it tough, just like in any industry.
Well I’m off for some breakfast, anyone know what Wombats eat?

So true Terry,
It is possible for them to co-exits with others. Simply release what is already announced such as the Sd.Kfz. 252, the T-54 and T-55 series, and all is momentarily forgotten. The latest Orange box release does excite me simply because no one else makes it, works well with the competition, includes the track that should have been there from the beginning, and the figures are a nice bonus.
Enjoy your Wombat Combat breakfast!

The Naughty corner for leaving the refrigerator door open?!
Aren't we all environmental and green... hmmm, green... hungry now...
Lizard sounds good. I'm so hungry I can go for a Dragon. They are self inflammatory so they usually burn themselves by their tongue.

You all look'n at it the wrong way, lets go back years when we'd die for this type of kit boom. The competion between these companys has and is pay'n us nicely. Tm
