A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
Hi Folks
Having established what's happening, I'll kick off with the first entry.
Trumpeter 8.8cm PAK43 Anti-Tank Gun
Revell/Zvezda L4500R Maultier Half-Track
Both will be built pretty much OOB, with any DIY improvements as neccesary.
There will almost certainly be some crew to make the scene look busy, as well as ammo crates and the usual debris found around big field pieces.

Hi Simon
In the rules you say open-topped Self Propelled. So then the RSO tractor mounting a 7.5cm pak 40 would be okay?
Cheers

Hi John
Absolutely fine. The idea is to showcase the actual artillery pieces, which is why enclosed guns such as M109 and PzH2000 are a no-no.

Re: A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
Well I will build a Sd.Kfz 7 towing a 150mm cannon . I will keep aftermarket to a minimum for this build !

Sweet!!!I really looking forward to that PAK43!
Is the Maultier the towing vehicle for the PAK?Seems strong enough to do the job!

Hi Ron
I've seen images of the L4500R towing the PAK43, 43/41, LeFh18, as well as numerous Flak weapons.
Roll on October 1st.

Hi Jaymes
Absolutely, although you may want to talk to Glyn Spur, he's still recovering.

Hi Mike
Nice choice. That's the one with the double recoil system isn't it?

Hi Simon;
...... Yes it is, it is a rather nice set up. The gun has the normal recoil cylinders, and the upper
receiver slides back, like the upper receiver on a 1911/A1 automatic. I have read...... after firing
a round, the gun does not move any.
Photo..... Bundesarchiv, Germany........ Photo...... Frank........ Feb. 1944.

Re: A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
Rocket/missile artillery still included in this GB? If they are then I'll still like to go ahead with my Rheintochter, it's the Cromwell kit with the missile mounted on a cut down Flak 37 mounting.
If it's only tube artillery then I have a few possibilities from my stash (from memory as they're all boxed up in anticipation of moving)
17 cm Kanone auf Tiger B
M40 GMC
M10 17 pdr Achilles
Sturer Emil
Dicker Max
K5 Eisenbahngeschutz
Or of course I could treat myself and go for a 25 pdr

Hi Andy
Rockets/Missiles are more than welcome.
I'd love to see one of these built.

Re: A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
I am going to finally be able to start building things and stuff again, so I have just gotta get into some of these group builds again. Cause I never pass up an opportunity to start something new all over again .
I will be attempting to do one of the rare little critters that the Germans put together as a kind of kobble pot construction. I think that the official name for this vehicle was the "Jenny's Pander" , but unofficially it was called the "5cm PaK 38 L/60 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen II (Sf)"
It really shouldn't be all that hard, as I got a big box of sticks and rocks and things like that to make it out of

Re: A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
Hi Gary
Can't wait to see it.
If you run out of rocks, I've got 100 metres of Cornish Granite you can use.
It's 3 metres high at its lowest point, going to 6 at its highest. My place is on the side of a hill, hence the difference.
My house is surrounded by the stuff. It's hundreds of years old and you couldn't get through it with a nuke.

Hiya Simon:
Well , Maybe if you save some of your money you could afford to get a house that isn't so old . But at least you will be safe if someone launches a nuke at you

Re: A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
The damn thing's got a preservation order on it, the insurance on it is insane as it would cost £100,000 to rebuild it.
It's about 1 to 1.5 metres thick. I'm thinking about getting a couple of siege catapults to honk off the neighbours.

Re: A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
Let's see........................ I have the older testors/Italeri M110.But I really hate Italeri tracks. I bought an older Testors/Italeri Katusha rocket launcher on Ebay for a real good price. I don't think the truck it is monted on is a W.W.2 version though.

Re: A Battery of Artillery GB Entries
Hi Chad
The GB is not time-specific, so any historical period is fine.
I'm hoping someone is going to put up a trebouchet, or siege catapult.
